Vincent Diaz, private individual — Toulouse, France. For any question about your data: hello@nearest.fr.
Your account: a nickname, an email address and your password — kept only as a computed fingerprint, never in clear, which means nobody, the publisher included, can read it back.
Your animals: name, species, breed or crossbreed, sex, date of birth, identification number, neutering, coat, passport, stud book registration, weight range, photo, and where relevant the date of death.
Their follow-up: weights, care, treatments and appointments you enter, with their dates.
Sharing: when you invite someone to follow an animal, their account is linked to that animal until one of you withdraws the invitation.
Location: if you allow it, the city or area is stored to place the animal and adapt seasonal advice. Your position is not tracked continuously. If you decline, the city is neither shown nor stored.
App usage: the date and result of a sign-in, the method used (password or code), the type of device, and the country and city that follow from it; the screens you visit and how long you stay; anonymous technical events that show whether a feature is used or not; the searches you run in the app, to improve the results.
Your messages: the feedback you send from the app, with the screen it comes from.
What is not stored: the IP address is not kept by the app, nor the contents of your phone contacts, nor your precise and continuous position.
This information keeps the app working: recognising you, showing your animals and their follow-up, sharing an animal with the person you choose, sending sign-in and reset codes by email, and understanding which features deserve improvement or removal.
The publisher, to keep the service running, and the hosting provider OVH, whose server hosting the app is located in Canada. Sign-in emails go through the OVH mail service. Apart from these two parties, nobody else has access to your data: the people you share an animal with see only what that sharing allows.
You can view, correct and erase your data directly in the app: Settings lets you change your information, view and erase your sign-in history, record the death of an animal, and delete your account — which erases your animals and their follow-up.
For any other request (access, portability, objection), write to hello@nearest.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Traffic between the app and the server is encrypted. The database is encrypted at rest, and so is its disk volume. Backups are kept encrypted and the server is reached by key only.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated. A significant change is announced inside the app.
This page covers the Truffe app only. For the nearest.fr website, see the website privacy policy.
